DE HAVILLAND AIRCRAFT BUILT BY NEW ZEALANDERS. One of the most complicated and technical of all Industries is the manufacture of aircraft, which calls for special skill and the highest standard of precision workmanship. All the more credit to the New Zealand workers who, without any previous experience, are now building de Havilland Tiger Moth primary trainer aircraft ’for the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Their adaptability to new and difficult techniques constitutes a real achievement, and one which has earned the highest praise from important authorities. They have been a key factor in the notable part New Zealand is playing in the Empire Air ( Training Scheme. , At the New Zdaland de Havilland factory—one of the World Formation of de Havilland companies—there are nearly four hundred skilled workers. They manufacture all the de Havilland Tiger Moth aircraft for the training of R.N.Z.A.F. pilots. They carry out the major overhauls, maintenance, and reconditioning of all primary trainer aircraft used in the Dominion. They built the unique mobile training unit familiar to Air Training Corps Cadets throughout the Dominion, and also make other special equipment for the National defence.—2.
