AMERICAN DECORATION.—The Medal of the Legion of Merit (officers’ degree), a high American honour, is pinned on the tunic of Air Commodore S. G. Wallingford, R.N.Z.A.F., by RearAdmiral Robert B. Carney, U.S.N., at a presentation ceremony held In the presence of high-ranking United States Naval and R.N.Z.A.F. officers at the R.N.Z.A.F. station at Whenuapai, on Saturday last. The award recognises Air Commodore Wallingford’s outstanding services to the United States Government during his term as air officer commanding the R.N.Z.A.F. in the South Pacific islands.
