Here is one reason, as given in the Daily Times some time ago:—A large number of objectors are Quakers, and a young man who appeared at the Appeal Court referred to the Quakers. The presiding Lord Justice remarked: “The Quakers in this war, as in the last, are carrying out some of the most hazardous work of the war, such as manning minesweepers, the Dover patrol, and other vessels operating around Britain, and are doing everythihg humanly possible, except using arms.” Would our men In detention camps do this?
