An amendment has been made to the Fertiliser Control Order, according to a notice published in to-night’s issue of the Gazette which aims at giving priority ot the available supplies of organic fertilisers, such as blood and bone and dry blood and bone dust, to market gardeners. The use of organic fertilisers in mixtures is prohibited except under a permit granted by the Primary Industries Controller. but this provision does not apply to mixtures put up for sale by retailers in small quantities. Furthermore, manufacturers of organic : fertilisers are prohibited from selling them either wholesale or retail without a permit; from the controller, in any case where the fertiliser is not intended for use in market gardens.
