TERM OF IMPRISONMENT (PA ) AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. A vouth, aged 20, who returned the kindness of an Auckland family when he was in uniform by later thefts, of cash and jewellery, and articles of clothing was sentenced to-day by Mr Justice Callan to 18 months’ hard labour. His name was James Billens. His Honor rejected a plea for probation, and said that Billens’s conduct almost immediately after his release from gaol did not inspire the confidence of the court.
