REGISTRATIONS IN OTAGO
Yesterday was the last day for women who have passed their thirty-first birthday, but have not attained the age of 41, to register for work of national importance. The man-power authorities in Dunedin reported that up till late yesterday afternoon a total of 1356 registrations had been received from the whole of Otago. This figure is considered to be satisfactory, but it is certain that it will be materially increased in the course of the next few days. The work of interviewing the women will commence almost immediately and they will then be directed into suitable employment.
