HOSPITAL BOMBED

MANY AMERICAN CASUALTIES LONDON. Feb. 8. An American correspondent in the Italian beach-head area says that on Monday afternoon German planes divebombed an American evacuation hospital. Twenty-six were killed and 43 wounded. Two American nurses v/ere among those killed and 12 were wounded.

An eye-witness says that the bombers came in at 500 ft and dropped antipersonnel bombs, which sent shrapnel pouring through two of the hospital receiving tents.
