DEMOBILISATION FIGURES 33,093 SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 9. Official figures which have been made available by the Minister of Rehabilitation, Mr C. F. Skinner, show that to the end of November, 33,093 servicemen and women have b£en demobilised from the New Zealand forces, of whom 15,623 were from overseas, and 17,470 had been on home service. Of those returned from overseas, 7297 have not yet been discharged, 6922 have been placed in employment, and 655 have returned to or acquired their own businesses or farms, and of those on home service 3186 have not yet been discharged, 11,609 have been placed in employment, and 1390 have returned to or acquired their own businesses. The balance is accounted for by small groups in other categories and some who have died. The Minister said that the totally blinded so far numbered 8, and the partially blinded 29. The total number of amputees from the present war to date was 215.
