DENNISTON COLLIERY

DISPUTE CAUSES STOPPAGE (P.A.) WESTPORT,. Feb. 8. The Westport Coal Company’s Denniston mine was idle to-day and there is no agreement to start to-morrow. Owing to the scarcity of empty trucks on Monday, the miners came out with a wet time shift allegedly contrary to the agreement. As there was ho work for them the truckers were sent home. The truckers claim payment for a full shift which the management refuses as being contrary to the agreement. After a stop-work meeting to-day all the men returned home.
