Paape have received the following letter from Sir Alan Lascelles, assistant private secretary to ihs King: “ The King and Queen have heard with sincere regret that your son, Flying Officer John Mitchell Paape, has lost his life in the service of his country, as his brother, Squadron Leader Arthur Mitchell Paape, did. lam desired by their Majesties to assure you of their deepest sympathy in this double loss which you have suffered.”
