TECHNICAL COLLEGE

HEAVY ENROLMENTS The exceptionally heavy enrolments of students at the Dunedin Technical High School were commented upon yesterday by the principal, Mr W. G. Aldridge, who said that the total number of enrolments accepted was 866, of whom 23 girls and 22 boys were not present at the school yes-, terday because they had not returned either from holidays or from holiday work. Places were being held for them up to certain specified dates. “A further 20 applicants for enrolment who appeared to-day,” Mr Aldridge said, “ are being notified that they may be accepted, although in different courses from the ones asked for. Including these, the school must now be regarded as completely full.” The previous largest enrolment was in .1938, when there were 830 pupils on the roll.
