LONDON, Jan. 25.

General Stilwell’s communique states that Mitchells, with fighter escort, including Chinese pilots, bombed Maitak aerodrome at Hongkong. Heavy flak and interception were encountered. One Zero was shot down. Mitchells of a Sino-American sea sweep off the South-east China coast attacked a Japanese convoy of seven merchantmen, sinking one freighter and one tanker, each of 5600 tons, and seriously damaging another- freighter of the same tonnage. All our aircraft returned.
