EMERGENCY CHOCOLATE
STATEMENT BY MANUFACTURERS In order to avoid ' any possible misunderstanding with regard to the issue to retailers of surplus emergency ration chocolate, which was the subject of an article published yesterday, the manufacturers in a further statement say that the tablets, although slightly different In taste and texture from the chocolate usually sold, contain all the ingredients of the best chocolate. In addition, they have a sustaining substance made according to War Office specifications, which gives them a highly nutritive value. The manufacturers also state that they have no personal interest in the disposal of the goods which have been s.ent to retailers. They acted merely as agents of the Food Controller, to whom the packs were originally sold for a specific purpose.
