DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE There was an active demand for all Government issues on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday, but again there was scarcity of sellers. Bank of New Zealands were wanted at £2 3s, and National Bank of New Zealand at £2 14s 6d, with no sellers quoting. National Insurances were quoted at £1 4s 6d and £1 5s 3d, and there were buyers of Standard Insurance at £3 18s 3d and Waitaki Freezing at £6 ss. Loan and Mercantile (ord.) were quoted at £47 (buyer) and £52 (seller), Guarantee Corporation at 4s 2d (buyer) and 4s 4d (seller), and buyers of New Zealand Breweries quoted £2 and of Dominion Breweries £2 Is 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary shares were quoted at £2 Is (buyer) and £2 5s (seller), D.I.C. (ord.) at 19s (buyer) and £1 Is (seller), and Wilsons Cement at 19s and 19s 6d, buyer and seller respectively. Woolworths (Sydney) were wanted at 19s 3d, with sellers 6d away, Mount Lyells at £1 9s 6d, with sellers quoting at £1 10s 6d, and Gillespie’s Beach were quoted at 5Jd (buyer) and 7d (seller).
