TROTTING NOTES

By Sentinel

The Dunedin Trotting Cup, of £IOOO (class 4.31) will shortly require the attention of owners.

According to the watch Gold Bar was 5 3-ssec in front at the end of a mile in the Ashburton Cup. Loyal Friend gathered £1875 in stakes at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting. He has now won £2670 this season. Lady Dawn has done well with two wins and a second in her last three starts. She is a five-year-old by Grattan Loyal. Last season she put up four seconds prior to a win, and was once third in her next three starts.

After Pacing Power won the Telegraph Handicap at Addington an inquiry was held into his form on the first, day, but no action was taken. If the reversal of form was so pronounced as to warrant an inquiry it seems strange that the inquiry did not take place on the first day. The public is surely entitled to know more about the case than the bald “ No action taken.”
