COMING INVASION
HATRED MAY TIP SCALES DR GOEBBELS’ REASONINQ (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 6. “The enemy’s bombing terror is a good school of hatred; it teaches more hatred than we are capable of teaching,” said Dr Goebbels in an article in Das Reich. “This,” he said, “may tip the scales in the coming invasion. Wherever in this war we have defeated foreign people we have shown them mercy. German soldiers have fed starving French refugees, and there is nothing for which the German people have given greater credit to the Fuhrer than for his chivalrous treatment of France at Campeigne. “But Britain by her air terror has gambled away this attitude of the German people. Whatever the retaliation is the German people will not be stirred to sympathy by it.” The 8.8. C. to-day broadcast the following warning to Belgians at the request of the Allied High Command:— “ In the event of military operations, on no account take flight along roads. If you are on roads you will obstruct the activities of the Allied air forces.” Belgians were advised to stay in their homes, and get into reinforced cellars if possible.
