BIRTH OF A PLATYPUS
MELBOURNE, Jan. 5,
For the first time on record a platypus has been born in captivity. After five years at the Sir Colin Mackenzie Sanctuary at Healesville the parents have bred a baby. Naturalists had believed that platypuses would not breed in captivity.
