POLICY OF LAND SALES COMMITTEE ‘ (P.A.) NELSON, Nov. 17. The Nelson Land Sales Committee has adopted as a general policy a maximum rate of interest of 4J per cent, for new first mortgages in connection with property sales approved by it. The chairman, Mr F. S. Boyes, said that if an applicant for approval of a sale did not agree to the rate of 4i per cent, there was the right of appeal to the Land Sales Court. In cases where mortgages were transferred the existing rates of interest would remain unaltered.
