BOMBS ON ENGLISH TOWN

HIT-AND-RUN ENEMY RAID (Rec. 1.15 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 16. German fighter-bombers made a sharp attack just before dawn on a town in south-west England. It was a typical hit-and-run affair. The raiders came in high over the coast. dropped their bombs anywhere and raced out again to-avoid the heavy barrage they encountered. Most of the bombs fell in a residential area, killing a number of people. Rescue squads are still searching among the debris for victims of the raid.
