FIRE BRIGADE MEMBER KILLED
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Noy. 15.. A member of the Auckland Fire Brigade Eric Bright, of Sandringham, single, aged 28, was killed in the course of his duties at a fire in the city this morning. He was a veteran of the campaigns in Greece, Crete, and Libya. He joined the fire brigade in 1937, and was the third member of the brigade to lose his life in 40 years. He was regarded as a first-class fireman and was very popular with the officers and men of the brigade.
