RECKLESS DRIVING
Sir,—Your correspondent “A Modem Jehu ” will find many sympathetic readers of his letter. Motorists who show complete disregard for the pedestrians safety are becoming all too common. Have you ever seen the mass movement of pepple towards the Stuart street tram terminus when a tram arrives? And then a frantic bumping and breathless pushing as an automobile comes rushing up from the Lower Octagon, and, without pause, rushes lightly by in that narrow space between the corner shop and the tram? This happens often, and, being the victim of one of these sudden frights last week, I felt I must emphasise “A Modem Jehu s letter. —I am, etc., Grannie. Kaikorai, October 21.
