SIMPLIFIED CLOTHING
ENFORCEMENT OF REGULATIONS (P A ) WELLINGTON, Oct. 22. In response to an inquiry, Mr D. I. Macdonald, secretary of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, said to-day that the matter of the unsatisfactory position regarding the operation of the simplified clothing regulations was fully discussed with the Minister of Supply, Mr D. G. Sullivan, during the annual conference at Napier. Mr Sullivan had been fully appreciative of the position, and he had intimated that the Government was taking steps to ensure the enforcement of the regulations. Instructions had been issued for a number of prosecutions to be instituted.
