KING’S HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS
SEVEN RECORDS ESTABLISHED The annual sports meeting of the King's High School was held yesterday under ideal conditions. The meeting proved most successful, no fewer than seven records being established. „ . _ „ The 100 Yards Intermediate Cup Race was won by A. F. Richardson in 10 4-ssee, which broke the previous record by 1-osec. K. Kenyon lowered the record of U 2-osec for the 100 Yards Intermediate Handicap, his time being 11 l-ssec, and the record of 14 4-ssec for the 100 Yards Intermediate Hurdles was broken by A. D. Tomkins, who covered the distance in 14sec. A. r. Richardson also set a new record for the 220 Yards Intermediate Cup Race, his time being 25sec. In the field events the record for the Intermediate High Jump of 4tt llin was broken by C. Simpson, who jumped sft lin, and new figures for the Intermediate Handicap Hop, Step, and Jump were set by A. A. Howley, the distance being 38ft, compared with the previous record of 37ft 9in. A. A. Howley, who finished first equai in the senior championship, is still in the intermediate class. As he won the Intermediate Cup last year, he competed in the senior events this year, and his performance against the older boys was highly creditable.
