HIGHLAND RIFLES

REUNION OF EX-MEMBERS The annual reunion of the Dunedin Highland Rifles Ex-members Association was held in the Crawford Lounge on Saturday night. Although many years have passed since the organisation became incorporated in the territorial system there was a good attendance of ex-members. Mr J B. Stewart, president of the association, was in the chair, and the guests of honour were Colonel G. Barclay, Colonel W. J. Strong, Colonel J. G. Jeffery (Fortress Commander), Mr W. Milward and Mr W. Baird (representing the old Dunedin Navals’ Association), and Mr N. Stewart (Dunedin Pipe Band). During the evening the loud speaker was linked with the telephone system and those present were able to hear a message from the patron of the association, Colonel A. Stoneham, speaking from Gisborne. The following items were given: Songs—Messrs A. Macdonald, G. McKellar, J Paterson, and L. McLean; banjo solo, Mr F. Galley; pipe selections, Drum-major G Maher. The toast list was as follows: The King ”; “ The Old Company,” Mr I. Grant (reply, Messrs J. Kennedy and J. S. Nelson)- “Our Patron. Colonel A. Stoneham.” Mr J. B.
