PATRIOTIC FUNDS
The patriotic effort in this war is a co-ordination of the activities of the societies which in the last war catered for the welfare of our troops. When, for example, soldiers in hospitals receive comforts from the Red Cross, the cost of these comforts is met from Patriotic Funds. Similarly, the patriotic organisation is represented in the camps by the Y.M.C.A., Church Army, Salvation Army, and Catholic Institutes, they were built and are maintained and furnished from Patriotic Funds. Patriotic Funds have also provided recreation huts, clubs, bands, kinemas mobile canteens subsidies to regimental funds, sports gear, libraries, writing material, and other amenities. Is your district contributing its quota towards the cost of all these? As a resident you are equally responsible with your fellow-residents for seeing that it does.—2.
