DUNEDIN COMMUNITY SING
.The eleventh community sing of the season was held in the Strand Theatre yesterday and attracted a large audience. It was an “ Old Time ” sing and old favourites, including “ Hail Caledonia, Old Father Thames." and " Sally,” were much appreciated. Solos were sung by Miss Bettie Law. The singing was led by Mr H. P. Desmoulins, assisted by Mr J. F, Himburg. Mr A. Pettitt was at the piano. The collection totalled £25 and will go towards Christmas parcels for soldiers. The following donations were received: Mr and Miss Haggart (Wingatui), Mrs W. E. Reynolds, “ Tapanui," “Anonymous, Mrs Garner, “ Soldier’s Mother ” (Waipahi), "Well-wisher” (Waikouaiti), Mrs J. McNeill (Ranfurly) £1; Children’s Lending Library, 31 Forbury crescent, 16s; “We Three ” (patients at Lawrence Hospital), Mrs J. W. Scurr, “Dalmore” 10s; “Help a Little,” 7s Gd; Mrs Napier, "Well-wisher,” Miss Artlett (St. Kilda), ss. Flowers and goods were received from Mrs J. C. McGeorge (weekly), “ Vedic ” (weekly), Miss Artlett (flowers), and Mrs Divett (aprons).
