STRAND THEATRE
EXCITING MELODRAMA Reckless and exciting melodrama, with almost every scene an action climax, describes “ Sin Town,” the Universal picture which was screened yesterday at the Strand Theatre. More excitement has been woven into this " movie ” plot than is usually found in a dozen screen dramas. Constance Bennett, who has the faculty of mixing glamour with realistic drama, has the leading feminine role. She is teamed with Brod Crawford, and the two portray itinerant “sharpers” m the “ black gold" belt. An exciting fistic battle between two heavy-weights is one of the features of the film. One of the most thrilling gun battles of the year is seen in Monogram’s "Federal Bullets, the associate feature, with Milburn Stone, Zeffie Tilbury, and Terry Walker in the cast. For this scene the director, Karl Brown, ordered real steel-jacketed bullets to offer authenticity. Others in the cast include William Harrigan, Helen MacKellar, Selrner Jackson, Matty Fain, Betty Compson, Lyle Moraine, Warner Rich* mond, Walter Long, John Merton, and Eddie Phillips.
