PATRIOTIC EFFORT
The Manufacturers, Merchants, and Warehousemen’s Group Committee of the Dunedin-St. Kilda Patriotic Committee has raised £10,131 of its quota of £15,000 for the All Purposes Appeal by direct donations from various firms and their staffs. Many firms have not yet made a donation to the fund, and a committee has been formed to canvass them personally At a recent meeting of the group, a Ways and Means Committee was formed with a view to conducting a gaiety show in the Early Settlers’ Hall from September 13 to September 17. One proposal now being considered is for an elaborate and spectacular fashion show.
