NORTH AFRICAN PHOSPHATES
NEGOTIATIONS FOR IMPORTS (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. “ The Government is well aware that large deposits of valuable phosphates exist in Tunisia and Morocco, and negotiations are under way to obtain the maximum quantities from those sources,” said the Minister of Agriculture, Mr J. G. Barclay, in reply to an inquiry to-day. The Minister said that a limited factor in securing supplies from North Africa would be the amount of shipping to carry them.
