PREMIER OF ONTARIO
RESIGNATION ANNOUNCED (Rec. 10 p.m.) TORONTO, Aug. 12. Following the Liberal Party's defeat in the Ontario, elections, the Premier, Mr H. C. Nixon, has resigned, and has advised the Lieutenant-Governor to send for Lieutenant-colonel George Drew, the leader of the Progressive Conservative Party. Colonel Drew expects his Government to take office next week.
