PROSPECTS FOR TO-MORROW (From Our Own Reporter) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 12. Owing to the broken weather since last Saturday the track is not likely to be improved for the second day of the C.J.C. meeting Tills morning a misty rain fell until about 11 o'clock, when the sun struggled through the clouds The card for Saturday will probably gctain the full strength shown by the acceptances, and the following may be amongst those fancied for their engagements:— 11.2: Hunt Club Cup: True Range, Dona* dea, La Boca. 11.47: Sumner Handicap: Foxleap. Big Top, Great March or Tring. 12.32: Lincoln Steeples: Anglo-French, Noko, Dozie Boy. 1.17: Woolston Handicap: Justitia. Desert Strife, Silver Mask. 2.2: Grand National Hurdles: Town Survey, Nightcalm, Colibri. 2.47: Spreydon Hurdles: Moderate, Borak, Knight Commander. 3.32: Islington Handicap: Platform. Kevin, Donnybrook Fair. 4.17: August Handicap: Kronos, Poutatau. Lenardo. Riccarton Track Work Kevin strode out well in his work at Riccarton this morning, when he finished seven furlongs in lmin 35 l-ssec, and drew out from Trench Law at the end of the gallop. Donnybrook Fair worked well over seven furlongs in lmin 34sec, and will be improved by his race on the first day. Kronos was travelling well when recording 52 2-ssec for half a mile. Bashful Lady and Hearth strode out freely in company when galloping five furlongs in lmin Bsec. Good Health and Spanish Main shaped well in a school over four flights of hurdles. . , Others who worked well included Cramond Bay, Joseph Conrad, Irish Treasure, Fairy Bard, Platform, Boloyna. Nightcalm. Palfrey, Poutatau, Fiddler's Green, Scottish Dale, Foxhaven, Sports Flash. Sing Sing, and Khurja.
