ALLIED LEADERS’ TALKS HIGH PUCE ON AGENDA (Rec. 11.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 12. According to well-informed opinion in - London, the latest meeting of Mr Churchill and President Roosevelt will be regarded in the future as a “ Pacific Conference,” says the London correspondent of the New York Times. That does not mean that the problems of the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and Europe will not be discussed, bu‘ whereas in the past the Pacific has been relegated of necessity to the remote future, this time the problems of the strategic means for defeating Japan will have a higher place on the agenda than ever before. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says that Defare leaving to meet Mr Churchill, President RooseVclt conferred with the Pacific War Council. After a brief meeting. Mr London, of the Netherlands, acting as spokesman, said the discussions were entirely devoted to future military strategy. The correspondent adds that some officials at Washington are looking for an early end of the war, and are hopeful that the meeting of Mr Churchill and President, Roosevelt will result in a final bio® that might knock out the European Axis.
