CHALLENGE TO MR FRASER (P A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 12. Mrs Scrimgeour, wife of Mr C. G. Serimgeour, has telegraphed the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) as follows: — My attention has been drawn to your extraordinary statements and charges against my husband in the debate on the broadcasting estimates.' I hereby repeat my husband’s challenge for a Royal Commission to inquire into broadcasting matters. You have taken advantage of parliamentary privilege. I request you to arrange to grant my husband special leave to re)ily to the charges levelled against him.”' . . Mr Scrimgeour’s campaign committee stated that Mr Scrimgeour would reply to the statement made in the House of Representatives when he is released from military service to conduct his campaign.
