NINE NEW ZEALANDERS SERVICE IN MIDDLE EAST (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, has been advised that the King has approved of the following immediate awards to New Zealand personnel in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Middle East:— Military Cross

Captain S. F. Catchpole; wife, Mrs M. M. Catchpole, Auckland, Captain A. F. Harding; next-of-kin, A. F. Harding, Martinborough. Temporary Captain J. C. Muirhead; mother. Mrs A. Muirhead, Norsewood. Captain Catchpole, who is 27 years of age, was in business in Auckland before going overseas with early reinforcements. Captain Harding enlisted in England and joined the New Zealand Division in 1940. , . Temporary Captain Muirhead, who is 31, was in the printing business in Palmerston North before going overseas with the advance party of the first echelon. Distinguished Conduct Medal Temporary Sergeant E. J. A. Fraser; wife, Mrs G. M. Fraser, Willowbridge. Temporary Sergeant Fraser was employed by the New Zealand railways at Christchurch before going overseas with an early reinforcement. Military Medal
