THE THROUGH EXPRESS

EARLY DEPARTURE FROM INVERCARGILL (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. The reinstatement of the original time table for the through express from. Invercargill to Christchurch was advocated in notice of a question given by Mr W. M. C. Denham (Govt., Invercargill) in the House of Representatives tn-day. In a note to his question Mr Denham said that at present the time of departure from Invercargill was 6.15 a.m. The original time was 7 a.m., and the earlier start was a great inconvenience to the people of Invercargill and the surrounding districts. There were no tramcars running at such an early hour and the inconvenience of transport was a distinct hardship to many servicemen and others who had to travel by train.
