PRISONERS OF WAR
EMPLOYMENT IN GERMANY BREACH OF CONVENTION LONDON, Aug. 10. Hitler has created the post of Inspec-tor-general for War Prisoners. The Berlin radio said that the Inspectorgeneral’s duties would include the supervision of war prisoner camps in Germany and in all operation areas, with particular attention to security measures and the employment of prisoners on militauy work. It is pointed out in London that the Prisoners of War Convention states: "Work done by war prisoners should not have direct connection with opsrations of war. In particular it is forbidden to employ prisoners in the manufacture or transport of arms or munitions of any kind, or on transport of material destined for combatant units.”
