SITTING OF APPEAL COMMITTEE The Industrial Man-power Appeal Committee—Messrs M. W. Grantham (chairman), S. D. Macpherson and H. H. Gillard—held a sitting in Dunedin yesterday afternoon, when appeals against directions or decisions of the district man-power officer, Mr E. A. Selman, were considered. Mrs Ina Guy, a casual station assistant, appealed against the refusal of permission to terminate her employment with the Railways Department.—The case, which was based on domestic reasons, was adjourned. , , , x „ McLeod Bros.. Ltd., appealed against the granting of permission to James Ramage S. Hastie to terminate his employment with the appellant firm.—The appeal was not allowed, the employee to be permitted to terminate his employment with McLeod Bros., Ltd., on Tuesday. August 17. Miss F. I. Elliott, Southmayde Hospital, appealed against the granting of permission to Miss Ysobel Suzanne Oakden to terminate her employment as a nurse at the hospital.—The appeal was allowed. The following reserved decisions were gl Lorna Smith, who appealed against direction from her present employment with Woolworths (N.Z.), Ltd., to employment at the Hospital Laundry, Caversham, in the capacity of laundress.—Appeal allowed, with a strong recommendation to the man-power officer that the appellant be directed into alternativeessential work immediately. James V. H. Wyllie appealed against direction from his present employment lo employment with the firm of John McGregor and Co., Ltd., in the capacity of fitter.—The decision was further adE. Nisbet, who appealed against refusal of permission to terminate employment at the Seacliff Mental Hospital Appeal allowed. . Mary K. Fulton, who appealed against refusal of permission to terminate her employment at the Seacliff Mental Hospital.—Appeal adjourned, sine die.
