UNITED POLITICAL FRONT

ALLIES’ PRESSING NEED (Rec. 1 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. Fresh demands have been made by. the British and American press for political unity on the part of the Allies. The New York Times emphasises the need for an early meeting between Mr Churchill, Marshal Stalin, and President Roosevelt, and states that the failure on the part of the Allies to present a united political front is playing into the hands of Germany. The News Chronicle also makes a plea for political unity, maintaining that Britain and the United States have so far failed to convince the Russians that they are fighting for the same aims as the Soviet Government.
