TROTTING NOTES
By Sentinel
Parshall, who is expected to race at Addington this month, is engaged at the Auckland meeting on Saturday. From 12 yards behind in the Takanini Handicap he will probably carry heavy support. Sandiways, who was formerly in R. B. Berry’s stable, is now trained in Auckland and is engaged at the northern meeting on Saturday. If he fulfils his early promise he should do well at the North island meetings. The field for the August Handicap at the Auckland Club’s meeting on Saturday is largely made up of horses that were formerly trained ,in Canterbury. Prominent among them is Betty Boop, who is reported to be in good shape for her engagement at the week-end. . Now a six-year-old, the southern trotter Danny Malone is expected to reach some of the tighter classes on metropolitan tracks. The Quite Sure gelding was very consistent last season, winning two races and being placed four times in eight starts.
