DENTAL STUDENTS
SHORTAGE IN DOMINION THE NEEDS OF HOSPITALS (Special) AUCKLAND, July 14, “There are no students available at the moment for work at a public hospital, and I cannot hold out much hope of your getting anybody until November," stated a letter from the Dean of the Otago School of Dentistry, received at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board. “ Some private practitioners are offering over £SOO per annum, and are still not getting assistants," continued the letter, which was an, answer to an inquiry from the board as to the possibility of getting final year students for the Auckland dental hospital. Application should be . made quite early next term for the November output, as there would not be very many students, and the demand was particularly keen, stated the dean.. The position would, however, correct itself in time/as new students had greatly increased in numbers. -
