Liberty Loan.—The quota for Clyde in the Third Liberty Loan of slightly under £IO,OOO was fully subscribed on Friday. The total amount received by mid-day on Saturday was £10,925. Football—A Rugby football match was played at Clyde on Saturday, when a Matakanui team completely overwhelmed the local side, winning by 40 points to nil. Hard Frosts. —A welcome thaw occurred during the week, which completely cleared the snow from the flats. Hard frosts are again being experienced, much to the advantage of skaters, a large number of whom spent Sunday on Davidson's dam. *
