LAVAL’S ADMISSION
RELATIONS WITH HITLER COLLABORATION A FAILURE (Rec.- 8.30 p.m.), LONDON, July 12. M. Laval, broadcasting to former war prisoners, admitted the failure of his policy of collaboration with Hitler. “I felt that France was saved at Montoire when I signed the agreement with Hitler,” he said, “but subsequently practically everything has been lost. I had the feeling during the interview with Hitler that I had •achieved an immense success for France, but on an evil day I again came up against Britain. I have been described as fanatically opposed to Britain, but I am a Frenchman and love only my cduntry.”
