LOSS OF BATTLESHIP
JAPANESE ADMISSION (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) 'LONDON, June 1. The New Delhi correspondent of the Associated Press of America says the Tokio radio disclosed that United States forces in the South-west Pacific sank a Japanese battleship in addition to those already claimed. It simultaneously announced that Rear-admiral Yanagimoto was killed when the battleship was dive-bombed and sunk. The United States claimed the sinking of two battleships in a surface action and also announced that two battleships were dive-bombed, but did not claim a sinking by bombing.
