The New Delhi correspondent of the Associated Press of America says the Tokio radio disclosed that United States forces in the South-west Pacific sank a Japanese battleship in addition to those already claimed. It simultaneously announced that Rear-admiral Yanagimoto was killed when the battleship was dive-bombed and sunk. The United States claimed the sinking of two battleships in a surface action and also announced that two battleships were dive-bombed, but did not claim a sinking by bombing.
