AEROPLANE ENGINES
BARGAIN PRICES IN ENGLAND (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 31. Disused R.A.F. Napier and Lion aero engines which, when new, cost hearly £2OOO each, are being sold in London for £lO each, complete and in working order. The Times quotes a scrap-metal merchant as saying that he had bought them for breaking-up, for which he had found insufficient labour, and so he was now selling them to aeronautical .enthusiasts who thought they would build their own planes after the war. ■ The Ministry of Aircraft Production said their civil repair organisation was too busy, ’to deal with all the engines offered.
