WATER SHORTAGE
SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT AT PORT CHALMERS The Acting Mayor of Port Chalmers, Mr A. L. S. Cassie, in a statement last night,, said that the water situation at Port Chalmers had slightly improved, and a supply from the reservoir had been available all day. It would, however, be turned off at nights. Water was still being obtained from Dunedin by means of City Corporation and army lorries, Mr Cassie added, and he again emphasised the need for residents taking every possible measure to conserve the supply.
