OBITUARY

SQUADRON LEADER A. W. HOGG The death occurred last week of Squadron Leader (Dr) Alexander Wilson, Hogg, 0.8. E., aged 68 years. Born in New Zealand, he served for a few years in the Bank of Australasia in Patea and Central Otago. He then went to Edinburgh and qualified as a doctor in 1904. During the Great War he was appointed assistant director of medical services, Southern Military District, and was awarded the 0.8. E, Immediately after the war he was appointed officer commanding the King George V Military Hospital in Rotorua, where he remained till 1923. After a brief period in Temuka, he went to Wellington, where he continued to practice till the ,outbreak of the present war. He was spending a few days’-leave in Marlborough Sounds when he died. He leaves a widow, formerly Miss Tennant, daughter of the Rev. Mr Tennant, Port Chalmers, one son, and two daughters.
