EUROPEAN ASSAULT
NO FEAR OF WEAKENING (Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 29. Some commentators appear to believe that Mr Churchill’s emphasis on the war against Japan foreshadows a weakening in the assa‘ult against Europe, but such fears are groundless, says the diplomatic correspondent of The Times. Anyone who has observed the steadily mounting production of arms in Britain and America knows that the Allied leaders are not faced with the necessity of diverting supplies from the west to the east. Greater production and greater security at sea mean that more arms will be available for all fronts.
