FALL FROM FIRE ESCAPE
ELDERLY FARMER’S DEATH
Mr Charles Fortescue Adams, a farmer aged 69, who was a patient in the Public Hospital, was found in a dying condition at the foot of a fire escape' in the Hospital grounds early yesterday morning. The deceased, a married man, who lived at Beaumont, was missed from the Alexandra Ward,, which is on the third floor, shortly after five o clock. A search was made, but no. trace ol him was found uhtU. shor.iJyc * o’clock, when he was noticed lying in the builder’s rubble at the>foot of the fire escape. He was then breathing, but died shortly afterwards, and from his injuries it was apparent that he had had a fall. An inquest was opened at the Hospital yesterday afternoon, and after evidence of identification had - been taken the coroner (Mr H. W. Bundle, 5.M.1. adjourned the inquiry sine die.
