MANY ABSENT ON FRIDAYS (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Apl. 30. From figures submitted to the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, according to a statement to-day by the secretary, Mr R. T. Alston, absenteeism from factories on Fridays is growing rapidly. He quoted the example of a clothing factory employing 300, which had 26 absentees this morning, the number growing to 31 in the afternoon. He said the problem would be discussed by the clothing group of the association.
