CUSTOMS RETURNS
FIGURES FOR APRIL Customs revenue collected at the port of Dunedin last month showed a decrease of £15,669, compared with the figures for the corresponding month of last year. Beer duty totalled £33,534, an increase of £3713 over the returns for April, 1942, and sales tax showed a decrease of £38(0, compared with last April. During the month £111,545 was received in war expenses taxation, an increase of £70,474 on the figures for April, 1942. The following are the returns for the month, together with the figures for April,
